Market Square Bag

Yay!
It's finally done!

Project Specs:

Pattern: "Market Square" from "Bags - A Knitter's Dozen"

Yarn: Donegal Tweed in colorway 863 & 848

Measurements: Before Felting ... Bag 22"w x 19" h Straps ... 35" After Felting ... Bag 19" w x 15" h Straps ... 30 1/2"

Needles: Addi Turbo size 8 circulars 24"

Started: March 2, 2007
Finished: March 25, 2007

I loved making this bag. It was definitely a very fun knit and I will be making another one in different colors with different yarn. I love entrelac knitting!!!

The yarn on the other hand is awful awful awful stuff. I DO NOT like the Donegal Tweed for felting. It did not shrink like it was suppose to. Felting this yarn took forever. I had to wash it 8 or 9 times before it would finally hide most of the stitch definition. I was not very happy with this at all with this yarn. Also when I went to pull the yarn through the loop to finish it off, I pulled too tight and it broke, the yarn that is. Will not get it again.

Ok that is for now! Finishing up the secret project and filling it with goodies as soon as the mailman brings my package....
Shhhh dont tell Andi! ;p

Later Jelly Beans!

Wow! That is really pretty! Just lovely! Yarn issues can really make or break the fun-factor.

It's too bad the yarn made the knitting and felting experience so horrible but the bag is absolutely beautiful! I love the shape and size of it too. What a perfect bag! I can't wait to see a pink and black one. Fun! :)
(BTW, I did do the drawing in my Friday post. :) It was fun incorporating yarn and needles into a doodle. Thanks for the compliments!)

Brandy, your bag turned out terrific! It looks even better in person. It's a perfect size to use as a tote to carry a work-in-progress to a crafters' meeting.
