Churn Dash is done!

It's done. I finished my quiltghan about 10 mins. ag0 (1:40pm). I didnt do it as big as the pattern called for. This is just the right size for my sister though and I think she will like it. Also the pattern didnt call for a border and after I got it all sewed together I agree. It looks great. For my next project I found an ripple afghan that I forgot all about having started. I started it about 5 years ago and put it in with my stash. When I was digging through it to find colors for the quiltghan I found it. I bought the rest of the perwinkle when I went to Rockford and order the rest of the yellow off of ebay. I know the dye lots probably dont match up, but it is going to be my afghan so I really dont care. I just have to find the pattern again and remember which hook I was using. I think it was a N hook and I know it is with two strands held together. Well I will start on it in a little bit since it is raining and I am being a bum today. As for the dessert in the previous post, it is gone. I shared it with all my neighbors and they all love it. It was extremely awesome, delicious goodness that I will probably only make like once in a blue moon. Very rich. Ok enough about that. Well I am off to finish being a bum and crochet some more. Hope you all have a great day.

Mix of Everything

Evening all. I hope everyone is having a good day. Me it hasnt been too bad. Getting better everyday. I did get to go to work for a couple of hours this am. That was about all I could handle. My hubby was very good today, he helped me with laundry and even started the dishwasher up for me. Wasnt that sweet...Awwwwwww!!! I made this awesome dessert and let me say it was yummy. So I figured I would share the mouth watering experience with you all. It is called Fudge Chocolate Strawberry Truffle Cake. Yes it was very sinful....lol I have manage to get some more squares done on my quiltghan. To all you out there that thinks my daugther is gonna win...HA-HA. I am soooo kicking her butt. I only have three more squares and then sew together and border and then sew the blocks together. I should have it done tomorrow nite or Sat. morning. We will see what I can accomplish tomorrow. And finally I would like to leave you with a pic of my Pumpkin. I always post Rascal, well here is the cat we should have named Garfield. He is really a good kitty. He is a loner though for the most part and my lap is the only one he will get into and that is on rare occasions. Well I am out of here. Have lots more crocheting to do tonite. Have a good one all.

Race to Finish!!

Evening all. I hope this finds all doing well. I am feeling a little better. Ate a bunch of spicy food for dinner, Chicken and Sausage Jamblaya. Boy was it good. My hubby wont let me make it during the warm months, so I had to get my fix before it gets too hot. Nothing much else happening in my neck of the woods. Other than hubby started his therapy. He is slowly on the road to recover, I hope, keeping my fingers crossed. This has been a long two years, but I think we are in the final stretch of it now. My daughter had no school today. So she was a busy little bee working on her afghan. She made a bet with me today, said that if she won by getting half of her ghan done before I finished mine that I could buy her a new sketch book and color pencils(she likes to design and draw clothes). But if I got mine done before she got half done then she would vacuum the whole house for 2 weeks. I agreed to it so I will be crocheting my fingers to the bones for the next couple of days. I will be racing to the finish line. I dont think it will take me too long to finish but you never know what is going to happen. Well not really too much more seeing as how I need to get my butt in gear and get crocheting. Oh and before I forget you guys are the GREATEST out there. I have been keeping inside. And I dont want to forget that I am really SAD to see Kelly Pickler go home tonite *crys*. She was good. Ok, Have a good nite all...

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

Evening all. Not a whole lot tonite. I am still feeling pretty awful. I really hate this time of year. Plus part is my fault for not letting my body heal and going full steam ahead outside over the weekend. I know better and am constantly griping at my son about it. He has allergies and asthma too. I promise that my butt is staying inside for a while, well at least until I feel a little better...Ok alot better. I really am not in the mood to do anything else right now, so with that in mind I have to put my sidewalk on hold. I need to pull out weeds and rocks and redo the whole thing. But I am going to wait for a while.

I have been working on my quiltghan. I got a couple more of the 2 color squares done. I have been looking at it and decided that the 3 blocks wide is actually big enough to be the length and then do 2 blocks across for the width. I think since I am going to give it to my sister that this will be big enough for her. Plus this thing is huge. So with that I am going to revise the pattern and shrink it down in size. I am sure that it will still be gorgeous. And I have a couple of other things that I need to finish up anyways. Will probably get it done in a couple of days.

Well not really much else. But I thought I would leave you with a pic of me and my fish that I caught a couple of summers ago. My son was very proud of me. It is not the best pic in the world. But it seems that I dont have that many of me around. And it is a little blurry.... I couldnt even find one to put on my profile. Geez....making note to get some pictures taken with my family sooooon!!!!!! Have a great nite all.

Not much today. Just did the normal laundry and a little shopping. My hubby has his first day of physical therapy tomorrow morning. I'm still not feeling to good. My allergies and asthma acting up really bad from all the yard work I did. But it will be worth it in the end. Going to crochet some tonite and hopefully accomplish some more of my squares getting done. Hands healed up nicely from all the lotion that I put on them. Check out my daughters page. She finished her purse and is doing another afghan....Crochet Princess . She is doing pretty good even though she went *shopping* in my stash. Well have a good nite all and Happy Crocheting..

Just Liked this Pic!!

Thought this was a cute pic of Rascal and wanted to share it with you. Also the pic of the blueberry bushes is a little dark. Will try and take another one in the morning so maybe you can see the little itty bitty bushes.

Update on yard!!

Afternoon all. I hope everyone is having a nice and beautiful Sunday afternoon. Wanted to give an udate on what I have been doing. I got the rest of the bricks around the tree and all the dirt poured in. We also got the blueberry bushes planted. It is starting to look pretty good. I have now loaded and unloaded 111 (25lb) bricks and 65 (40lb) bags of top soil. Plus lets not forget that dang tire that my hubby had to have all those years ago. My whole body aches from head to toe. I still need to finish buying the flowers and plants to put around the tree and then we will start getting the white marble to put in the beds. I have white marble everywhere else so will cont. with it. I even picked up some parsley and basil to add to my herb bed. But I have decided that I am done for a couple of weeks now. Will probably get some of my crocheting done first unless my daughter drives me nuts with her blog page and crochetville. I am really glad that she shares my hobby though, unless she steals too much of my stash. She is going to have to start getting her own stash I think...LOL... Well I am off to see if I can get some more dirt off my hands. They look pretty stained. Have a great evening all. Happy Crocheting (I think)!!

Start of Blueberry Bushes

Even all. Well actually its nite, but oh well. I am feeling some what better. My stomach is still a little upset and you really dont want to know the rest. But overall good. We bought a few blueberry bushes this last week, I think I mentioned it in an earlier post. And I decided that I needed to get them plant before they die. We had an old tractor tire in the back yard with strawberries in that never produced any strawberrries, actually they were not even coming up this year. First thing I had to do this am was get that tire out of there. I think I used some muscles that I forgot all about and have never used. I had to dig out the dirt first and then lever the tire up with the shovel. I used those boards there to help. Got it out of there though. Took it out to the tire place and then head to Menard's to get my brick and dirt. Before I got anything unloaded from the truck I found my new pattern book in the mailbox. I won it on ebay. Crochet Ultimate Book of Quilt Afghans from Annie's Attic. This is going to be my next afghan project after I get everything else finished up. The Double Wedding Ring Quilt. I fell in love with it the moment I seen it on Ebay.
I probably wont be crocheting for a few days now anyways. You should see my hands. I forgot to wear gloves. Ok on to the rest of my project. I still need to get another 15 bags of dirt to finish filling in what I did. I like using to colors and I did that in front of my house with my daisy chain that I did a couple of years ago. So that is what kind of bricks I got to do the blueberry bed. Here is the after, looks much better than hubby's tire idea that he just had to have to put strawberries in. Men.....well you know. lol See tree in background well I will be putting bricks around that and filling in and then some hostas will go there. I would show you the rest of my back yard but I dont want to scare anyone. It will be another couple of years to get it the way I want so I will update as soon as I do more. I think I did a pretty good job. What ya think??? LOL Well I am off for a hot soak in the tub. I hurt everywhere and I still have more to do tomorrow. Plus I still have to straighten up down my sidewalk in the front..... I may never be able to crochet again after I am done. Have a great nite all and a great weekend.

Afternoon All. Last nite was not a good nite for me. I was feeling yucky (ackey, feverish, sneezie, sore throat and whatever else you can think of). Still feeling that way today. But I was good and crocheted all the blue squares for the next three blocks. Fifteen of those little suckers. Did not sleep very good last nite due to hubby would not stop snoring. Usually I can get him to roll over and he will be fine, but no matter what last nite he would not stop. We had to get up early this am to go to the doctor's office. But first he took me to one of the yarn stores down in the Quad Cities. I know I probably should not have gone, but no fever would have kept me away. I think though I should have waited, cause I could not make up my mind. There was some really beautiful and soft and awesome and stunning yarns there. I did manage to buy this after drooling all over the goods. Cant really tell what color it is from the photo and I tried taking it in a couple of different rooms but no good. It has sort of yellow, lt green, and liliac varigated. Gorgeous cotton. Gonna make a purse with it. Not really sure which one yet. After the yarn store it was off to the doctor's office, where I got to sit for an hour and fifteen mins. and this what I accomplished there.... Got all the yellow ones done for the next three blocks. Now all I have to do is make the 12 two color ones and sew them together and then border then attach. Should have the 2 color ones done tonite. Oh yea and tuck in my ends. Dont like doing that part at the doctor's office. Well I think I am going to go and enjoy the quiet of my house. Both kids are staying late at school, one for play practice and the other to get extra credit for math, which he dont really need but wants... Have a great nite all and I hope no one catches the flu reading this...and if you do I am soooooo sorry..... Happy crocheting.

Progress on Quiltghan

Afternoon All. Just wanted to update the progress of my quiltghan. I have now completed 3 blocks and joined them together. This is huge. I think it might cover a full size bed nicely. That is the width. The pattern does not call for a border but I may put one on just to give it a more finished look. I really like how it is turning out. I have decided that I am going to send this one to my sister for mother's day. Her oldest daughter is graduating from high school this next month. I am very proud of my sister. She had her daughter when she was thirteen years old and raised her and took care of her. She really deserves it.

Ok hold on to your seats. I have been a very helpful wife to my hubby. Since he has had his surgery and he is not able to do some of the stuff to our car I was good and I changed the oil, windshield wiper blades and recharge my air conditioner. And yes I actually did all that, course he was out there making sure I did it the right way. My step-father made us work on the cars and things before he would teach us how to drive. My sister and I always did that stuff as teens and it is nice to be able to help my husband with that knowledge. It really dont take that long to do most of it. Just get a little greasy...oh well.

Have to take hubby back to the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully he will release him so he can start driving the car again. He is driving me nuts over that. Plus will be nice to have someone else take the kids to youth group and such stuff. Well I am off of here. Going to get some more crocheting done. Wonder who is going to get voted off American Idol tonite??? Have a great nite all.

Planting not crocheting!!

Evening all. Just a short note tonite. We had a really nice Easter dinner. Just hubby and kids and me. Narnia was pretty good. Got a little more crocheting done. Yesterday was a really bad day. Didnt even feel like writing about it. Sometimes when you have a bad day you dont want to sound like you are complaining and that is just how I felt. Things are much better today. The sun is shining and I went out to Wal-Mart and picked up a few things. I decided that in my side flower bed (which we have planted everything under the sun in) I would do a herb garden. It is the best place for one. Gets full sun and just the right size for what I want. The first thing that I got planted in it is my rosemary. I will be adding some thyme, oregano, basil, and italian parsley(yes there is a difference between curly and italian). All the fresh herbs that I normal cook with. Might even through in some chives or something along that line. We will see. We also picked up 4 blueberry plants and will be getting those in the ground sometime this weekend. Well really not too much more exciting things going on here....still working on my quiltghan and hopefully will get some more done tonite and be able to post pics tomorrow of my progress. Well I am off of here. American Idol will be on in a little bit. Have a great nite all.....

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. I hope this finds all having a great weekend. Mine has not been to bad if you dont count the middle of yesterday. I made plans to go to Rockford to the yarn stores, which there is many up there. All the major ones that everyone is familiar with and then the specialty ones. We got started an hour late which is not too bad. Got the directions which were dead on. Took an hour and 15 mins. only to pull into the parking lot, which by now I am getting really excited. Walk up to the door and then notice that there is no lights on and there is a sign in the window saying......CLOSED.....for Easter. Let me say that my stomach dropped like it would do if you were on a roller coaster. I felt like pressing my face up to the window and just beg someone to come open it up for me. I did peek in and oh my gosh. The yarn was awesome and beautiful and so much of it that I felt like crying. Not only was this one closed but the other yarn shop that I wanted to go to was closed. That was really a big let down. But I did manage to go to the major craft chains. I found some perwinkle blue to finish up an afghan that I started yeons ago and I really dont know why I never finished it. It is a really easy ripple. I think I started it in the summer and it just got to hot or something. Oh well now I have the yarn to finish it. Plus I did win some more of the yellow that I am using on ebay, 7 skeins of it....wooohooo. I have been steadily working on my quiltghan and I should have a second block done here shortly.

But first I would like to brag about my daughter. She did it. She finished her first afghan and I am so proud of her. I did not help her at all. She did it all by herself. OK she did not want me to take her pic here. But who cares right.

Here is a close up of the pattern. It is suppose to

look like a plaid throw. Well I am off for now. Going to go watch Narnia with my kids and then have a nice Ham dinner. HOpe everyones Easter is a good one.

Huge Easter Bunny

I was emailed this pic and thought everyone would like it.....He weighs 22 lbs. He is a little over 3 feet. And the breed is what they call a German Giant. LOOK AT THOSE FEET.... That is his owner holding him for a photo with the NY Post. He is bigger than my Cats. GEEEEZZZZZZZZ!!!!

Progress....

Here is the color combination that has been the one everyone including family has picked....
Hi all. It is a beautiful day here after all the storms that came though our area last nite. I was going to post last nite but I lost my cable first, which means no internet and then lost power. I was a good little girl and I crocheted my candle light. That was very interesting. I could not crochet with the darker color though. Couldnt see the stitches that well. But did get some of the yellow squares done. While I am talking about that I keep changing my mind on the color arrangement for my quiltghan. Ok need some opinions. I love the first one I made until I put the blue edging on it....

I could take the blue off and do yellow around the edges and just make them tan and yellow or..

Yellow and blue trimmed with the blue or.................

This way with the yellow and blue then trimmed with yellow........ See why I cant decide. I really want it yellow and blue but I am just not sure.

Ok on to something else. Hopefully tonite I will be able to post a pic of my daugther's finished afghan. She started it about 7 months ago or so....She is almost done. It is pretty and she did an excellent job on it.

I did manage to go out and clip off the dead branches from my rose bed. They have started growing and all you see is rock now and little itty bitty red leaves....Will take before and after pics of it coming up....Cant wait for full bloom.

Well I am off for now. Have a great day all and I will try to stay dry....Hopefully.

Start of my quilt for the CAL

Here is the start of my quilt for the CAL....trying to sew it together and put the edging on the first block...That is where the blue will come in to play.... It consists on nine little squares and 4 big two color squares. Hope you guys like it...I love the yellow and blue together....
Will post a pic tomorrow with the edging on it....
Hi all. I hope everyone has had a beautiful day. Gorgeous here. I do believe we got close to 80 today. My day started out pretty good. Then went downhill and then back up again.

First...Let me say this and get this out of the way. My daughter will NEVER be a photographer. She had 84 pictures she could have taken of all she seen and did and only got maybe if we are lucky 20 out of all those pics. Here is a couple of the first place she went to...I cant remember the name of it for the life of me...thinking....Shed's Aquiarum (probably not spelling it correctly).

This is one of the best ones.....I love those pengiuns.....

She has about 30 pictures of water and peoples heads....She said she was trying to take a picture of the dolphins. She really loves those. Ok I will post one pic that I think is the dolphins in the background and then you will understand why I say she will NEVER be a photographer.

Then she got to go to the Hard Rock Cafe. She only took 6 pictures there of six guitars. Got to love my daughter.... She said that it was totally awesome and she loved the food.

Jimi Hendrix's Guitar for my hubby.....

Next on the agenda for them was a play. Wicked. Not quite sure what it was about so if someone out there knows and reads this could you please tell me, cause she wont...LOL....

Ok enough about her. The lady that I help is really making me mad. I love her to pieces but she keeps changing her mind from one minute to the next. Let me explain a little bit. I am self employed and she hired me to clean once a month and to drive her around, get groceries, doctor appointments and so on.....Before anyone gets the wrong idea..She is extremely wealthy and did not want to go through one of those nursing care places and I have done this kind of work before. She likes that we can do fun stuff, which we do...and she spoils me. Well this week was suppose to be packed with eye doctor's and normal stuff. Well I really need the extra this week and thinking that yes finally a little extra to send with my daughter. WElll She ups and cancels on me not once but twice. I am not so mad about that, I do understand but she lied about why she canceled.....Then she gets mad when I tell her that I am taking on another job because I need the extra money right now. What am I suppose to do? It is not guarnateed. She keeps changing her mind and I cant sit around and what for the phone to ring and her saying she needs me that day. I really should just find a normal job or go back to school. But there is nothing around where we live......I will end up just biting my tougne and not saying anything at all like normal. I do like the freedom of choosing my own hours and she does treat me good most of the time.....Just makes me really mad that she canceled I needed that money this week.....Ughhhhhhhh.

WEll enough of that.....Have a great nite all.

Short and Sweet

Just a quick note. Dont have any pics today of what I have accomplished. My daughter took the camera with her to Chicago today. Yesterday and today was a pretty nice spring day, which in other words mean that the pollen count is extremely high and my allergies are acting up. And since it was a gorgeous day out I got the grill out and made up some potatoe salad, baked beans, and bbq chicken. Yummy!!! Last nite I dug out all my extra and scrap yarn that I have; a suitcase and a rubbermaid container, ok maybe two of those plus a tote bag full. I had some beautiful colors and I finally decided which pattern that I am doing for my cal. The churndash it is, in cornmeal, tan, country blue, and a med country blue(dont remember the color name, but walmart is still carrying it). I think it is going to turn out really beautiful, I hope, keeping my fingers crossed. I mananged to get some of my short and sweet bolero done. I ran out of yarn and I have to go back to the store to get some more. I dont really like the bulkiness of it and my daughter says it hangs too short in front. I really believe she just wants it for herself. All I have left to do is the edging and the sleeves. Maybe make it over to the store Friday and then I can finish it this weekend. Well not too much else going to let me stomach settle from dinner and do some crocheting....Have a great nite all.

Evening all.

Evening all. My weekend has turned out pretty good. It was a beautiful Saturday around. My daughter had friends over and I took them all to the mall. Course she didnt want me to stay and join them. That's ok kinda getting used to her not wanting me around. I cant wait til she gets older and will want to do the shopping and talking with mom thing again. Teenagers seem to be a strange lot. I did however convince her friend to help me draw my squirrel and yarn nuts...LOL....and color them in. I do believe my button turned out pretty good. I did manage to pick up Interweave Magazine that Lucy talked about. There is a couple of things that I want to make besides the sandels. Cant wait to get to Rockford to get some good yarn for a change. Just a couple of weeks away for that. After all the running to the mall it was time to run to youth center and run my son to the bowling alley where they twilight bowling. A bunch of his friends met up with him and from the sounds they had a really good time. I got a little bit more done on my bolero. This am woke up to a nice sunny day. Did some laundry and worked some more on my bolero. About 3/4s of the way done now. It is turning out nice. Will post pics of it tomorrow, I think. Still trying to figure out what colors to do on my quilt afghan. Not really feeling to hot today, it could be either allergies or flu. Thinking it may be the latter as my brain is not really function all day. Hopefully I can wake up tomorrow and get the creative juices flowing and come up with something awesome. May dig out all the stashed yarn that I have and just do a color here and a color there...LOL... I'll see how my day goes after I get off work. Really stinks, kids get spring break and I have to get up early to go back to the eye doctor. Oh well thats life. Well I am off here for the nite. Have a great one all.

Or this one?

Ok maybe this one would be better..... I think I like it better. LOL

My Button!!!

Ok just really quick this afternoon. What do you think about my button? My daugther's friend helped me do it. She drew it and then i scanned it and then I had to resize it....Geez there is alot of work making one of these. So tell me what ya think.

Ok will post more later. Or maybe tomorrow. Have a great afternoon all.

TGIF

Hi all...Not too much going on here. I tried to stay away tonite...but my son and his friend took over the tv and the light in my bedroom is horrible to crochet by. So here I am going to ramble on and on about nothing...Today started spring break for my kids....This should be interesting. My daughter gets to go see Wicked and visit the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago Tuesday with her band trip. Then you about two weeks my son and I get to go to Navy Pier in Chicago for his band trip. I cant wait. Will post pics when we go. Still havent quite figure out which quilt afghan I am going to do or what colors to do it in. So maybe someone out there can help me decide which one to do. I know whatever one I do the colors are more than likely going to be done in either greens or americana colors seeing as those are in my living room and my bedroom. That is if I can get my hubby to help make up his mind on what colors he wants. Here is a couple of other quilt like afghans that I have made...

This one is the Prairie Star...

Irish Chain Stitch... Granny Patch.....

Well there really isnt too much else.....gonna try and kick my son and his friend out of the living room for a while so I can crochet...Have a great nite all....

What is it???

Ok could someone please tell me what it is???? My son got it as a prize for a fundraiser that he did. Its squishy and colorful and blinks....Wonder who sits around and thinks up these ideas. They must be really bored...LOL.

Well in other news....I am getting involved in my first cal. The Crochet-a-Quilt one. I have had the pattern for the one I am going to make for at least 10 years that I know of. Hubby is going to pick out the colors. Will post pics of the one I am going to make soon and the yarn that I am going to use for it. I havent gotten much done on my restart of my bolero. I got stuck doing yard work and didnt get to crochet too much. But the lady that I help got fantastic news today. The eye treatment that she got has helped her alot. She may even get to start playing cards again. Her favorite pasttime other than shopping is playing Euchre. She still wont be able to drive. That is kinda good and kinda not....at least I still have a job. I really dont think she would get rid of me anyways....She enjoys being drove around.

Well I smell my burgers and fries...I think that is going to be all we eat for a while. Everytime I ask him what he wants for dinner that is what he says. So I just decided well two can play his game. Now I make it everytime he says it....LOL He is learning to start helping me come up with other ideas for dinner..... At least I get strawberry shortcake for dessert tonite... Well off to dinner and some crocheting and watching Survior.....Have a great nite all.

Redo back of Sweater.

Just short and sweet tonite. Not much going on except I did not like how my bolero sweater was turning out. I thought it was too bulky and the yarn, which I used probably the wrong kind, didnt feel quite right. So I made another long trip to another state to go to the fabric store and found some really nice feeling yarn. It's Lion Microspun and it feels wonderful. So I'm not as far as I wanted to be on it. But tomorrow I may be caught back up. We'll see. Have to go to work early and get to sit at doctor's office so I will be able to crochet my fingers to the bones. Well not much else. Have a great nite all.

Almost forgot

I had someone today ask if I would be interested in being hired to finish some crochet projects. This woman's mom passed away and they found a bunch of unfinished items. Now who would not love to be paid to do their favorite hobby. WoooooooHOooooooooooooo.

Back of Sweater

Just a quick post today. Did the normal Tuesday stuff got the kids off to school, aggravated my hubby for a little bit, went to work, and came home and aggravated hubby some more. That is alot of fun. Anyways...Not too much going on today. I didnt work on the kitty pup tent last nite but started the sweater. I got the back done. Dont worry it wont take me long to make it. One thing I maybe should have told you is when I get it into my head to make something I am very fast.
I started that last nite and finished it while the lady that I take care of got her hair done. I should have the left and right front done tonite. It kinda looks short to me but we will see. I will be working on the kitty pup tent come this weekend. It just takes so long to make one panel...maybe that is why I never really cared for knitting. Dont get me wrong knitting is great but I like to see progress...LOL Oh I almost forgot I signed up at crochetville and now could someone please tell what it is all about. I must be getting old. I understand you get on there and meet other crocheters but I cant seem to follow when things were posted and on what day. Ok so maybe I am a little lost but if I can figure this out with some help I may be able to figure the other out too. I think (scratches head). Well that is about it for now. Got to get dinner going and clean up so I can watch American Idol. I hope the judges are in a good mood tonite. Oh yeah and aggravate my hubby some more......LOL Have a great nite all.

Monday, April 03, 2006

Evening all. Today has turned into being a beautiful spring day. I got some of my laundry done, which is a never ending battle. I feel like some days that is all I get to do. We got to open up doors and listen to the birds chirp and listen to my tomcat, Pumpkin, crying and meowing to pretty please let him go outside and chase the squirrels and birds around. He will sit for hours in front of the door waiting. He is not normal a lap cat or a lover. But at this time of the year if you take him out he thinks you are the greatest thing alive. Here is a pic of him begging, well his sort of begging, to go out.

My daughter says thank you for all the nice compliments that she got on her hat. She said it was a pain in the butt to crochet backwards hdc over the wire. But overall was not too difficult. She needs a little more practice, still a little loose, but Great. She is getting ready to start a purse now. When she gets it done I will post pics of it.

I got my son's Anarchy hat done. It seems a little small and I should have checked my gauge but I didn't. So I may make him another one and switch up the pattern a little bit. Make it more into a beanie for him. He likes it, I guess. We are trying to stretch it out some. Hopefully that will help a little bit. Almost too warm to wear it, might just wait til next fall. We'll see.

Well that is about it for now. My hubby and kids walked to the library and I am going to go and sit on my butt and watch a little tv and crochet. Not too often I get to sit in peace and quiet without the family being around. Kinda miss it a little bit. Now to decide if I start my bolero or finish kitty pup tent. We'll see. Let you know tomorrow what I decided to do. Have a great nite all.

My Weekend

Here it is Sunday evening and I thought I would post a few things on how my weekend is going so far. It has been pretty good.

My daughter and I manage to find the yarn store. It was not that great. They had a nice selection of yarn. Can you believe that they carry almost all of the Lion brand yarn except for the cotton yarn? We did however manage to pick up some Sugar 'n Cream for a purse for her and a sweater for me. Both patterns come from the Happy Hooker. That is a great book. I really am glad I heard about it.

My daughter also got the yeehaw hat done. I dont think I mentioned it before but she wanted that hat and I told her she could make it. She does know how to read patterns and crochet anyways. Well she decided that she could not wait for me to find a nice color or maybe something (in my opinion) that would have looked better, she said she did not care. Here is how it turned out. I think it looks great.

The kitty pup tent is coming along pretty good. I got another panel done. Only have 5 more to go. I started work on my son's Anarchy hat that he wanted after seeing the one that Crochet Mom made for her son.

I tried a new recipe today and it didnt turn out all that well. No jumping up and down begging for me to cook that one again. It was suppose to be a turkey pie but I changed it to beef. Maybe would have tasted better if I used a gravy in it instead of the soup that it called for. Might try again with a little changing of the recipe.

It has now started storming here so I am off to work on the hat and watch my Sunday nite shows. Hope everyone has been having a great weekend. Have a good nite all.
