Unexpected Company

Have you ever had a day when nothing went your way? Have you ever had a day when the sun is out but you feel blah? Or have people come over that you were not expecting and stop you from getting things done? Or a day where everything just aggravates you? Well that is the kind of day that I have been having.

First, I couldnt sleep if my life depended on it. I just rolled and rolled. Finally got up and lay down on the couch and read for a little bit. That helped some. Until Rascal decided that I needed to pet him at 2:30 in the morning.

Then I tried talking to my hubby and he is just not in the mood to talk to me. See I have his keys and I wont give them back til the doctor says he can drive. He says he is ready but I think it is just the idea of having some freedom. He misses it. Plus he is starting to really get back to normal considering how long he was hurting and he just wants to jump in with both feet instead resting like he is suppose too.

Next, the bookstore did not get the book in that I wanted and they dont know when they will be able to get it in. But they did give me four pages of books that they could order if I wanted any of them. But hopefully tomorrow I will get to go to the yarn store and they will have something there that I will like. We will see.

Then I am getting ready to leave to go to the grocery store and we get unexpected company. They are not even our friends but my husbands fathers friends. Geez....they sat here and talked for two hours. Oh my gosh. I cant even remember what they were talking about...sighs.... Dont get me wrong their hearts were in the right place and it was kinda nice but I had so much stuff to do besides and didnt get anything done. They really just wanted to see how Jeff was doing. So I guess I shouldnt complain. But I feel like it.

And this you will probably believe because this is just the kind of day that I have been having, the grocery store was out of my golden mushroom soup that I use in a casserole. And dont get me started on going to another store. We have two and neither one had it, that means Wal-mart included. The price I pay for living in a small town. So thank goodness that I fixed a good meal last nite, tonite it is frozen pizza for the kiddies. Oh well they like that.

Well not much else tonite other than I did manage to get a work in progress bar thingy, thanks to Lucy at folk-n-fancy. Off to work on kitty pup tent and take some aspirin, I really need that. Have a great nite all and a good weekend!!

Long Day

It has been an extremely long day. I got up early this am so I could go to work earlier than normal. My job if you want to call it that consists of taking care of an elderly lady who has Macular Degeneration. Well I get to drive her car and go shopping, have lunch, doctor appointments, and etc. You get the idea. Well today was suppose to be exercise class, book work, and grocery shopping until she decided to change the time and do other things before the stores open. We drove around for at least two hours before the stores in the mall opened. Geez that is very tiring. Then it was off to home where some great people out there, Meaning Tara from Coffee Crochet and Lucy from Folk-n-Fancy and Court from Candel in the Wind really made me feel pretty good. You guys are GREAT! Very Big Thank YOu to Tara for the button. It is adorable. I am still trying everything that everyone suggest and I think I may have come up with something. Still trying to develope it in my head, but hopefully in a couple of days I will be able to post it. Keep your fingers crossed. So needless to say I haven't gotten anymore done on my kitty pup tent but a couple of rows, I did however cook an awesome dinner tonite, Chicken Pie w/ Cornbread Topping. And I decided I would post pics of how good it looks....I know I am tired and bored so I took pictures of what I had for dinner. Besides my eyes were starting to cross from looking at all this computer stuff. This stuff is the bomb. It has carrots, mushrooms, onions, chicken, and the cornbread is the old fashion kind. Takes a couple of hours to make but well worth the time.
Well I am off to read a few blogs and then to watch Survior and do a little crocheting. If I can keep my eyes open long enough. Have a great nite all.

Pics of bottom of Kitty Pup Tent

I really like this crohook even though it takes a while. One side is dark green and the other side is light green. That is if Rascal will move.

Not much today.

Evening all. Not too much going on today. My day started out as normal. Get kids up for school. Daughter stays in the shower 35 mins. Yes she likes long showers. Son complains that she used all the hot water. Sit on computer and read a little bit. Take daughter to school. Thought I might get to go to Clinton to Hancock's but my husband still is not feeling that well. I dont know if it is still a cold or what. And he wont call the doctor about it. I did however find a huge yarn store about an hour away from me and I think I might get to go over this weekend. From their web page they have just about anything a girl who loves to crochet wants. Keeping my fingers crossed. Next thing on the agenda today was to try and find a computer program that would help me make a button for my page here. Well one thing that I should say about me is when I want something I dont give up till I figure it out. Kinda like a dog with a bone. Just wont give up. Either that or drive myself nuts over the whole thing. Well anyways I went out to Staples and I thought I found something that would help me. I should have asked someone out there, but I didnt. I get home all excited and plug it in the computer and nothing. Well now if I would have asked and didnt and I would have read the box a little better I would have known that it was not what I was looking for and I couldnt use it. Well by now I have completely opened it and tried it and decided I needed to take it back. Most stores wont take software back if you open but they did. Almost lost some money on that. And I still didnt get my button made. Dang it! I want a button. LOL. Go ahead and laugh I am sorta. Well back to the drawing board so to speak. Next on my list was the book store to get my crochet books that I ordered. Only one came in and it was not what I was looking for, so they are going to get some more in for me. IF you are counting, I am 0-2 today. I did manage to clean out my closet and get a couple of boxes together for my up coming rummage sale (about a month away). And I cant believe how much yarn I had stashed away in my closet. Geez. Hope hubby dont find out about the other stash in the container in the garage. He'll make me get rid of some of it. Time to make a scrap afghan. And I also manage to get one piece of my kitty pup tent done. Ok I did take some pics but blogger is not letting me put them here. Well I will try after I post this. Not much else tonite. Going to read a little and hit the sack. Have to get up early tomorrow to go to work. Have a great nite all.

Thank you.

Thanks for the comments on my page and the stuff that I made. And before anyone says anything. I know I messed up the pics and what was suppose to say under each pic. I honestly dont know what I did wrong. Oh well. Have a great nite all.

New Project Cro-Hook

Has anyone used a cro-hook(double ended hook) before. I found this pattern book at the library, by the way my library only has three crochet books at it. I live in too small of a town I guess. Anyways, it's called "Crochet Gifts to Go". It has this really adorable kitty pup tent in it and I decided to give it a whirl. Well if you ever used a cro-hook I guess you would say it is a cross between crocheting and knitting and I really dont like to knit cause it takes too long, but I am going to try just for my kitties. Here is a couple of pics.

Here is what I got done so far and

this is what it is suppose to look like. I already had to ripe some stitches out. But hopefully it will turn out like the pic.

Can someone please tell me how old is too old to give your kids Easter baskets for Easter? I miss my kids be little and doing the whole dye the eggs and Easter baskets and finding a stuff bunny for them. YOu know the fun stuff. I mentioned to my husband the other day that I would like to surprise the kids with that and I thought they would like them. He told me that they are too old and I should just wait and I will have grandchildren to do that with. So how old is too old?

Well that is it for me today. Need to finish dinner and then it is off to watch American Idol. Hopefully no one will call in that time. Maybe I can even get one piece done for my pup tent.

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

WoooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Look what I did all by myself. Hooray. YIPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Ok got that out of my system. NOw lets hope and pray that I did it right and nothing crashes on me. As you can see I got no crocheting whatsoever done. But I wanted to see if I could do this template change. I did however manage to get the housework done before I tried this. I think it looks great. I still really havent figured out what my next project is going to be, but I think I may try to make a table cloth. I havent crocheted with thread in I dont know how long so I may need to practice a little bit first. Well not much else for now. Got to finish dinner. WooooooooooHooooooooo......Have a Great Nite All.

Since I didnt type that much this am I thought I would get back on here. I finished the Rabbit yesterday morning and made a dash back to the store to get some more material to make an Easter Basket. I got all the material cut into strips while trying to download the pic of my rabbit before dinner. Got the Easter Basket made this morning. It turned out real nice. I found a place for my duck to hang out. And I got the Happy Hooker book. My daughter wants almost everything in it. I told her to dust off her hooks and get busy. Found many things in there that I like. First got to get to the big city to buy some of the yarn that I need for a few of the patterns. Maybe next weekend.

Last nite was a very peaceful and quiet nite. I can't remember the last time both my kids were not at home for a whole nite. Actually they have never spent the nite at a friends house on the same nite. I really enjoyed it. My hubby first had a nice and greasy dinner. I dont really remember what we did before we had kids. That was 14 years ago. So we both opted for a movie, "Walk the Line" which we havent seen yet. It was awesome. It almost sound like Johnnie Cash actually was singing. And then to round out our nice peaceful nite we went to bed like a couple of old folks. LOL. Oh well it was nice. Got up this morning refreshed and ready for the teenage battles to begin again. So far no wars have broke out, but the day is not over with yet. Well not much else except did anyone else have problems with blogger yesterday? Going to finish more laundry and cook dinner and watch my favorite shows and try to find something new to make. Have a great nite all.

Rag Rabbit

I finished the rabbit yesterday and tried to put it on, but blogger would not like me do anything. So I hope this works. HOpe everyone likes it.

TGIF

Hi all. It has been another long day. I had to get up early again. My hands hurt and were a little stiff from working on my alien, I mean rabbit. Here is an update on how it is looking so far. I only have to do another foot, 2 ears, a tail, and cheeks. Then sew him all together. Not looking too bad.I had to take my husband back to the doctor today to get his back recheck. Everything is going good so far. The nerves in his leg may heal or may not. I hope they do because he has burning sensations in the bottom of his foot and running down his leg. They say it can take up to a year for them to heal. He still dont get to drive and it is killing him, hopefully in another month or so he will be able to. Where we live at we dont have any craft so to speak of stores around, unless you count wal-mart and they dont really have that much. So I figure why we were in the big city I would check into some of the fabric stores and look for some new pattern books. Well let me tell you that between all the stores that I looked all I found was 4 beginner crochet books. I could not believe that. So now I guess I have to start looking online for new pattern books. This really stinks. Welllllll back to searching through my old patterns to see if I can come up with something new to do after I finish my alien...LOL...sorry it really did look like that. My hands are starting to cramp and I am getting tired. Still have to pick up my son from the dance at 8. Then I have to listen to girls giggle all nite long. So I guess I will get off here and make my hands really sore and finish my rabbit. Have a good nite all. Happy crocheting!!

Looks like an alien.

Just a short note today. Am very tired. Ever have one of those nites that you could not just go to sleep and when you finally do then you have to get up? Well I had one last nite. Nothing helped. I couldnt go to sleep. And when I finally start to fall asleep, my son got up. That was around midnite. Then I go back to sleep and then wake back up. But enough about that. I thought I would share the developments of my rag rabbit. I am doing pretty good. May have it done tonite or tomorrow. We will see. But lets get started with the pics.

Ok I know it looks like a big pile of nothing. But that is 6 1/2 yds. of main color and 2 yds. of contrasting color cut into 1" strips. Yes it takes a while to cut all that. Now for the Alien.

That took all day to do. Almost looks like a bird nest. But I'm not done yet. I have done several things with material cut into strips and crochet with it, Easter baskets for my kids, placemats, apple baskets for the teachers at school, and apple coasters. I was on an apple kick at one time or another. But anyway that is the start of my project.

Well I am really tired and I have to go and get the brats from school. Plus wouldnt be able to get on later anyways, got to watch Survior. Well till tomorrow. Have a good one all.

Wednesday, March 22, 2006

Evening all. It has been a beautiful day today. I started my bright and early morning to my cat, Rascal pouncing on me @ 5:30am to get up and play and feed him. He is still a kitten. While my kids were in the shower getting ready for school I decided to crochet. Ok it was a little early but who cares. I made this darling little duck that I got off a website that Folk-n-Fancey talked about. It was from Grandma's Easter Site . (side note I made the links without asking for help, WOoooooooooooooHooooooooooo). Hope everyone likes her. LOL Course my hubby and Kids keep saying "AFLAC".

It felt pretty good to make something other than afghans. That is all it seems I have been crocheting, except at Christmas when I helped my daughter make stockings for all her friends, and I mean all. Will show pics of those when it gets closer to Christmas. But right now I am in the Easter mood, so my next project is coming from Crochet Collection by Leisure Art. I dusted of the cobwebs from some of my old patterns and came across a cute Rag Rabbit. Already got the material and have it cut into strips. Now all I have to do is join the strips and crochet. Should have it done in a couple of days. Be watching for pics of it. I finished those squares for the comfortghan and got them mailed today. I didnt get all 12 that I wanted to make but did six. Just tired of afghans right now. Will make some more later and send them. I think that is a great project.

Well it is quiet in my house, cause my brats are at youth group, yes they are brats today. I'm going to go work on my rabbit right now and wait for American Idol. I am thinking that Bucky is going home tonite. Well until tomorrow. Happy crocheting.

Really dont know what to put tonite.

I really dont know what to type tonite. I manage to get two and 1/2 more squares done. I even got to crochet while I was working. Love my job. Maybe I should explain. I work for a lady who is losing her eye sight, well part of her eye sight. We go shopping, out to lunch, exercise class, or basically whatever she feels like doing. When we are at her exercise class or doctor appointments I get to crochet. See that is why I love my job. Plus she is the nicest person I have met. And it helps not having a full time job right now. My hubby had back surgery back in Jan. and is not able to drive or anything for a while. He has been off work now for two years. Very long two years. IN the beginning we could have killed each other, now it is getting better. Hopefully he will get to go back to work in another year or so. He has alot of therapy to do before we will even find out if he can work again or not, at his old job. HIs surgery took eleven long hours, which I finished half an afghan. Some days I feel really old. I have noticed that since he has been home I have more gray hairs then before or that might be from living with two teenagers, 13 & 14. LOL .. But they are really sweet and loving kids, when they are sleeping. Both get good grades and both are in band, son plays the sax and daughter plays the clarinet. My son got a second on his solo at contest and first on his duet with his friend. Now he wants to play baseball that is starting up really soon. He played last year and did pretty good. I was really proud of him. My daughter keeps trying out for the school play, but she hasnt made it yet. She still helps out with makeup and sets and such. I know I am just rambling on but for some reason I need to talk about it. Oh well I guess I will go to bed my feet are getting cold..I know nice way to end it huh? laughs

PULLING MY HAIR OUT

I completely DO NOT UNDERSTAND LINKS AND BLOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have spent all day on my computer and manage to lose the one thing I added to my page. Yes that means I pulled my hair out. Thank goodness I have to work tomorrow, I cant stand to lose no more hair. LOL...Oh and did I mention that I dont feel so stupid. My daughters friend, who is suppose to be a computer geek, couldnt get it either. I really dont feel so bad, I guess. But it is really frustrating when you almost have and then lose it. Oh well, guess I will give it a break for a couple of days.

Other news: My hubby is still sick with the flu. My lasagne tastes better the next day. I didnt get any crocheting done today, but I did read about the linus project and recieved some info back about it. Maybe when I get the squares done and sent this weekend I will start an afghan for the other. Finally I am very sore from my pilate ball. LOL ....

I never knew that there was that many crocheting rings and websites and oh my gosh my head is spinning from it. Where I live I only know two other people who crochet and we dont have groups of people to get together or what have you. This is some great stuff. I feel very overwhelmed by it all. Going to pick out just a couple of favorites and stick to those until I get used to it all.

Well I am off of here for the nite. Have a good one all.

Added a Cute Counter

WooooooooooHoooooooooooooo. I added a counter. Baby steps. I did it all by myself. My daughters friend did not show up today. Lets see that only took a couple of hours. I think I am doing pretty good for someone who doesnt know a thing about computers. Well tomorrow we will see if I can add a link to someone's blog page. (keeping my fingers crossed). Well that is it for me. I am going to let the computer have some time off, at least until tomorrow morning. LOL

My diary

I am coming to realize this is more like a diary that everyone can read and sometimes give you advice. I never kept a diary when I was younger, but I always made sure that my daughter had one. It actually feels kinda of good to read other peoples blogs and realize that everybody basically has the same kind of feelings. I think I am going to like this.

Today is my and my husband's 12th Wedding Annivesary and he is sick in bed with the flu. So I am making my kids take turns in watching movies with me today. They kinda like it because they get to get on the computer when it is the others turn. Sundays in our house is suppose to be the computers vacation. Well we all broke that rule today. Oh well. Actually my daughters friend is suppose to be able to come over and show me a few things on how to add stuff to my page. Hopefully he will be able to do it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I have found a new toy, so to speak. It is one of those pilate balls. My sister told me that I could sit on it and crochet and get exercise at the same time. Let me tell you it really works. My legs and stomach are so sore from having to keep my balance and crochet at the same time. This way I get to do my favorite thing and I'm not just sitting my backside. LOL

I have completed four squares to send for the comfortghan and I am going to try and finish 8 more by Friday. Then I will send them. Hopefully my daughter will get her's done by then. She is a little slow. Oh well, guess this is it for now. Gotta stir my lasagne sauce and get crocheting. Will add pics of the squares tomorrow. Have a great day.

Had a minute to spare while I wait for the water starts to boil for the lasagne noodles. So I thought I would add a pic of the squares. I really dont like the one with the soild middle but thats ok, it will still look good however they use it.

Hooray!!!!!!!!

Hooray. I kinda figured it out, a little. I think I can add a link or two, but not today. And my daughters geeky butt friends didnt even have to show me. (giving myself a pat on the back). Well that is it for today. It only took me 5 hours to do that much.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Hi all. I know it is almost tomorrow but has been kinda of a busy day. I am still trying to figure out how to do things to my page. Not very successfully if I must confuss. I just don't get how to add buttons and links and all that really cute stuff to this. But I hope and think that my daughter's friend might be coming over on Sunday and help me.
As for the rest of my day I have been busy crocheting some squares for the comfortghan that I read about on the Crochet Dudes page. I think that is the coolest thing ever.

I even manage to talk my daughter into making a square. (she's the one in the chair) Her friend was giving it a go to. She is still learning how to crochet.
And let's not forget Rascal, he is always willing to help me out.
P.S. if anyone out there reads this and can help me figure some of this out. Please let me know. Thanks.

Ok fourth time

Hi people. Lets see if I can mess this up now for the fourth time...I have now tried to create a blog four times. I can not seem to get my pics on here the right way or without embarrassing objects in the background. Cant even figure out how to add a pic to my profile...Not doing good...LOL...My daughter is being a brat and will not help me either...Maybe tomorrow I can talk one of her friends into helping...I can crochet and cook a gourmet dinner but I cant do this blog thing very well. Well hopefully I dont mess this up. We will see. The pic that I am including with this entry is a corrected version of the first pic. I made the afghan and my cat (Rascal) seems to think it is his. Oh well hope anybody who reads this likes it. Also if someone out there can tell me how to do anything on here I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
